Privacy Policy

If you create a profile:

• Your full name, email, phone and WhatsApp numbers, and date of birth.
• Your national ID or passport number, for our identity check.
• Your photos, where you live, your headline and description.
• Your answers about marital status, children, work, education, religion, height, drinking, smoking, relocation, passport, relationship goals, countries of interest, hobbies and languages.
• Your package and payments, including the phone number you paid from.

If you create a free account: your name, email, the country you signed up from, and which members’ contact details you opened.

If you use “Chat with us”: your messages, the name and email you give (both optional), the country you wrote from, and your account if you were logged in. A small cookie lets your browser find your chat again. Only our staff read chats; we use your email only to tell you we’ve replied, and we delete a chat on request.

When you visit: our hosting provider tells us which country your internet connection is in, and we use that to decide what you can see on a profile. Your password is stored only in scrambled form, so we can’t read it.

• Anyone on the internet can see your first name, age, area, main photo and headline once your profile is published.
• People who can open your profile can also see your description and answers. Anyone browsing from outside Kenya can open it, and so can anyone in Kenya with a profile, unless you chose only foreign countries.
• Your phone, WhatsApp, email and other photos are shown to members with a confirmed package and people outside Kenya with a free account who have confirmed their email. Free accounts are not identity-checked.
• Our staff can see everything, including your full name and ID number, to review profiles and confirm payments. Your ID number and full name are never shown to other users.

Search engines: published profile pages can appear in Google and other search engines, including your first name, age, area, main photo, headline, description and answers, so people can find them by searching. Your full name, ID number, contact details and other photos are not on those pages. If you delete or unpublish your profile, the page stops working, though search engines can take some time to drop it.

We don’t sell your information.

To run your account and profile, show you to other users as described above, check that profiles and photos are real, match payments, keep the site safe, and answer you. We send emails about your account, such as confirmation and password links. We use your consent, our agreement with you, and our interest in keeping the site safe as our reasons for doing this.

Some answers, such as your religion, can count as sensitive personal data. You choose to give them for your profile, and by doing so you consent to us publishing them there.

We use outside service providers: Vercel for hosting and photo storage, Neon for our database, Safaricom M-Pesa for payments, and our email host for sending email. Our database and website servers are in the European Union, so your information leaves Kenya. Staff alert emails contain members’ names and phone numbers.

We use one cookie, to keep you logged in. The site itself has no advertising or analytics trackers. If that changes, we’ll update this page first.

We keep your information until you delete your account or ask us to. Deleting removes your profile, photos, answers and payment history from the site straight away. Copies can remain for a short time in our providers’ backups, and in M-Pesa statements and staff emails that we keep for our records.

Other users may already have saved your number or photos. We can’t remove those copies.

Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019 you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, and you can object to how we use it or withdraw your consent. You can delete your account yourself from your dashboard or account page. For anything else, email hello@datingsites.co.ke.

You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.

This site is only for people aged 18 or over. If we learn a profile belongs to someone younger, we remove it.
